Lost Progress and Past Lives: What to Check

This page explains one part of the game. It is an independent copy, not the official site. The life itself starts on this language’s homepage.

Three different records

one8b.save.v3 is the life still in progress. one8b.lives.v1 is the list of finished lives, up to 500 summaries. one8b.past.v1 keeps at most 10 recent snapshots that can show See again. A long list is not 500 lives you can reopen.

Three stores in this browser. A longer list is not the same as a life you can reopen.
KeyOn this copy
one8b.save.v3The life still in progress, including one that has been drawn and not started. Continue uses this.
one8b.lives.v1Short records of finished lives, up to 500. The list can be longer than the lives you can reopen.
one8b.past.v1Recent full snapshots, up to 10 in this store. See again appears only when a snapshot for that life is available.

Read the result of a finished life

Go back to the same place

Use the same device, the same browser, and the same site. A private window, another profile, or a cleared store will look empty. In-app browsers such as a social-app web view keep a separate store.

Another language is another page

Open the language you were playing. The homepage for that language is where Past lives is listed. Do not delete the current language’s data while you look.

See again is limited

See again appears only when a snapshot is still there. The homepage talks about the most recent ones. Low space can drop older snapshots first. IndexedDB can also hold a copy when it is available, and it can fail when it is not.

There is no account to log out of

Nothing on this site signs you in. A memorial, a purchase or a server move belongs to the original site’s server. This copy does not run that server, so it cannot fetch a life from it.

After a deletion

The game says a deleted life cannot be brought back. This page will not promise a recovery tool, and it will not ask you to wipe more data in the hope of a repair.

Another device

Move my lives on the original game may depend on its server. It is not a feature this static site can guarantee. Treat a new phone as a new store unless you already confirmed a transfer.

What to say if you ask for help

Language URL, browser, device, and whether the list was emptied by you. Do not paste the contents of local storage.

After you have looked

If the life is there, press Continue or open Past lives. If it is not, starting a new life will not restore it. Avoid clearing site data afterward.

Recovery

Protect whatever is still there.

Can you restore a deleted life?

No.

Saved lives in this browser

Why does one finished life open and another not?

Only a snapshot can reopen the full result. The 500 rows are summaries.

How to read a finished life

Will a new browser see the old list?

No. The list stays in the browser that wrote it.
