The share for being born in Japan
Births and population are different weights
Babies born now uses the yearly birth count. The 8 billion alive now uses the number of people living now. For Japan the birth share is 0.5684% and the population share is 1.5395%. Neither button fixes the next life in Japan.
Where the life table starts
The life-expectancy field in this file is 84.7 years. The game life table starts near 87.6 for women and 81.6 for men. Under-five deaths are 2.4 per 1,000 births. GDP per person (PPP) is 47,387. Expected years of school are 15.5. These are the model starting points for Japan. They are not a promise that a person born there reaches that age.
This page does not choose a birthplace
Opening Japan here does not set the next birthplace. Where you were actually born (optional) only keeps a comparison in this browser. The draw is Be born on the homepage, and each draw is separate. Japan is not guaranteed to come up.
The current file only
The numbers on this page come from the current country file. Changing a year label would not turn this share into a past share for Japan. A past world in the game uses that year own weights. This page does not calculate a historical probability.
